Spent a lovely afternoon/evening at The Rocks soaking up the Australia Day festivities.

I must say that although I’m not usually one for crowds I enjoyed soaking up the atmosphere ‘cos people were in a very good, summery mood.

But the best fun I had was attempting some gig photography. Since there were 5 stages and a dozen buskers there was plenty to choose from.

I had a go at shooting Youth Group, who sounded pretty good actually, despite them not playing Forever Young (gasp, sick of it already boys?)

But Something For Kate were an absolute joy to watch. They played a very tight, fiery set of favourites.

I must say that Paul Dempsey reminds me very much of Richard Armitage – if he had rock star-ish hair and played in a band, that is! He certainly had that brooding on-stage presence down to a pat!
