The colour is the same as the others, but I have never seen anything like this on the east coast.

Another yellow coastal heath flower species. It’s like a yellow version of the mountain devil, but the leaves are like holly.
Point D’Entrecasteaux – Part 2
The coastal heath flowers on the point were incredible. Strangely enough, most of them were a light yellow. Here is a mini bottle brush like specimen.
Windy Harbour – Part 4
Here’s some lovely peas you don’t see on the east coast. Love the colour combination here. It turns out that I tried to grow this one in a pot at home – but it died due to lack of water. One thing the south west does not (usually) lack is rain, due to the cold fronts coming off the Indian Ocean.

Some interesting dune flowers we found near the cottages. The white daisies we commonly see on the east coast, but this was the first time I’d seen a weeping flower.
Karri Forest – Part 7
Getting back to the flora of the forest, we have some wattle – quite similar in hue to the east coast varieties…
And some delicate purple peas.
Karri Forest – Part 2
The forest is definitely more open than similar environments on the east coast. On the ground are vines and low-lying scrub, many of which were flowering. Here is a dimunitive but sunny flower for the day.
Harvey – Part 3
One last look at the Stirling Cottage garden. These flowers were rather pretty, and may even be indigenous to the area. I say ‘may’ because I only suspect. SW WA has such diverse flora and fauna.
Harvey – Part 2
Stirling Cottage is by the shady Harvey River, and has a wonderful garden and orchard. A few tulips were out while we were there, but I suspect the best was yet to come.

To end this little series, a wattle bush in full bloom on a clear morning.
