There were clean and bright rice flowers – I like their delicate pink interiors.

There were lots of pink flowers about, which was lovely after seeing all the yellow ones in WA. These were not quite bottle brushes in shape.

Being early spring at the time, the heath flowers were in bloom.

Coastal Flora – Part 5
Here’s a flower I haven’t seen before. It looks like a pea, but its red ‘tongue’ and the fact it’s growing off a bush and not a vine means that it definitely isn’t a pea.
Coastal Flora – Part 4
A few more peas, this time from the Margaret River region. The south west land division do share a lot of species, but it’s interesting how much diversity there still is.
These purple peas look like the same species as those in the Southern Forests.
But these orange peas are slightly different to those found 150km away.

One last look at the flora on or near the coast. There were plenty of wattle in September. These were a lovely golden colour.

I liked this flower the best. It’s like a eucalyptus flower but in bush form.
Around the corner was the same plant but in yellow.

The Margaret River coastline yielded some interesting flowers as well. This flower was similar to the one we found on the south coast and even back east.

There were some delicate heath flowers nearby. That were not white.

We found these flowers, which look quite a lot like flowers on the east coast.
