Today we’ll begin a wander along Mt Ettalong lookout. We’ve been there once before but this time the weather was much brighter. First stop was the outlook over peaceful Pearl Beach, with Lions Head and Palm Beach in the distance.

Canine Interlude – Despondent
One thing about beagles – they’re extreme attention seekers. If you’re not showering attention on them 24/7 they become rather despondent. Below, little princess wasn’t happy that we haven’t given her a pat… in the last two minutes.

While the picnic area was chockers with picnicker – grannies, parents, kids, babies, dogs – the rock platform was rather empty. I know where I’d rather be.
Lazy Sunday – Part 1
Ah, Terrible Terrigal. It’s my first visit in over 10 years and I wanted to get out right away. It was a sunny end of winter weekend, and although it might not seem like it from this photo it seemed that half Sydney was camped out there. Terrible. I’m ever so glad that BB’s place is in relatively tranquil Umina Beach.
Winter Walk – Freedom
The beagle loves walks, especially walks along the beach, more than she loves food. If you know about beagles and their obsession with food then you realise that taking walks is Number One in their list of things to do. Perhaps it’s because they are in their most natural element on the beach, especially a leash-free beach like this part of Umina Beach is. The beagle can sniff and mark territory and dig holes (almost) wherever she likes.
And of course she can run like the wind.

Winter Walk – A Dog Owner’s Convention
Apologies for the lack of posts the last two weeks. BB and I have been on the road around NSW. We’re almost on the home stretch and have many photos to show you, but until then here are a few posts about our last walk along Umina Beach. There seemed to be a dog owner’s convention – a large dog owner’s convention – that seemed to freak our little beagle right out.

Winter Drive – Going Home
After a lunch of prawn and chilli pizza, and chicken pesto linguine (waited upon by a surprisingly patient beagle), we headed back home to the Coast. I particularly like this shot of our princess. Many dogs like to poke their heads out of moving car windows – she’s no exception.
