One of the joys of autumn is its light. It is gentler and makes colours really pop at you. Like one afternoon when I noticed how the lovely light in the house interplayed with the dark wood.
Outside, the shadows were dark and deep.
It’s nice to sometimes appreciate scenes from the everyday. These were taken on a weekday, once again in Hurstville main street.
Two ladies conferring over apples.
The bananas were quick a quick sell.
All in all, the greengrocers were doing a roaring trade.
The last two I took on film. After 10 years of photographing on digital, the look of film photographs is refreshing.
Another change of scene, this time to central Hurstville during their Lunar New Year celebrations.
Breaking the rules at the train station.
And on the street.
The main street was closed off to traffic and stands set up. There were crowds aplenty – and they were willing to queue for a freebie!
This kid certainly got here share of freebies.
Breaking the rules has its joys. This captures this old couple.
It was inevitable that the week after studying the rules of composition we were invited to break them. Not only that, we were also encouraged to take photos with other devices other than our digital SLR in the quest to take photos that were a bit more out of the ordinary.
Well, the easiest and most commonly used photo-taking device these days is the camera in our phones. It’s certainly the most inconspicuous, especially when out and about. I snuck in this shot at a Sydney CBD food court. Those guys look positively ghostly.
The trains were all ablur at the railway station.
