Sorry it’s been a long time between drinks. I’ve been diverted by more personal things lately – like getting married. The big day is tomorrow, so I will again be off-line for awhile. But before I go I’ll leave you with a taster for my next series of posts celebrating the coming of spring.

Quite apt for a retreat day – or frankly, for life in general.
The field looks chilly but very green on this winter afternoon. One could almost imagine that this was somewhere in the northern hemisphere, if it wasn’t for the southern hemisphere species of trees.
The bench under the apple tree looked a nice place to rest – if only it wasn’t so windy.
After all the rain, the creek is flowing faster than ever.
A few leaves cling to the bare branches – quite a feat, particularly as there had been some tremendous storms of late.
Yes, the trees on the avenue were quite bare.
What a contrast it is to the scene at the turn of summer to autumn.
The last time we visited Jamberoo Abbey it was mid-summer. This visit is at the beginning of winter, and hasn’t the landscape changed.
We’ve come to the end of our Southern NSW adventure. We’ll end with a walk along Aslings Beach in Eden. BB wanted to fish (although I thought he was crazy to be fishing in the surf mid-winter). I took a walk among the dunes.
On the other side of dunes was a lake. I thought it was fitting that I saw two pelicans paddling by into the sunset.
Wonboyn Lake is a tiny holiday spot 20km south of Eden. It has a caravan park and a service station/general store/cafe. That’s all.
But it’s also a well-loved fishing spot. There were plenty of jetties further on to fish from. Not many boats because they’re probably all out on the lake.
