We haven’t seen too much of the sun in recent weeks, so the beagle was happy to take advantage of the most meagre patch of sun to work on her tan.

It’s been awhile since I last visited Jamberoo Abbey. My latest visit was on a midsummer’s weekend with BB. The dairy cows were out in the main pasture, and they were an interesting addition to an already beautiful scene.
Guardians of the Field
Across the field a flock of white herons take flight. White herons are guardians of the rice fields. Along with ducks, geese and other water fowl, they feed off the worms, rats and other vermin, and are hence revered.

To round off Bali’s weird and wonderful things is this giant beetle. Again, not for the faint-hearted. I was very glad that I didn’t have to hold this one.
