Capturing Clouds
While I was busy capturing light, I noticed that there were some really good clouds in the sky.
Sydney doesn’t do fluffy white clouds too often, so I really clicked away.
And there was more of the same the following day!
I was happy.

I’m not usually a morning person, but getting up early has its benefits when it comes to capturing light.

Capturing Light – Part 2
With my newfound enthusiasm for light, I found a raft of things to photograph inside the home that afternoon.
How light reflected off the enamel wash stand.
How it diffused through the wispy curtains.
How it cast shadows on to the floorboards.
Simple everyday things were suddenly a little special.
Crochet Fedora
This was a very fast project – a crochet fedora. I crochet the hat in a few days, bought the trim and sewed it on with some leftover embroidery floss.
3rd Anniversary Orchid
For our 3rd wedding anniversary, my parents gave us this orchid. I’m always amazed at how resilient these flowers are – they lasted more than two months.
A few completed projects
I’ve been quite busy with a few little projects this spring. There were a few improvised crochet creations:
A granny square steering wheel cover.
And a cosy for my little drink bottle.
I haven’t forgotten about my knitting though, and this project was certainly not a short one. But being from cotton, the top is great for spring, perhaps even for early summer.
Baking Interlude
I tried a recipe for spicy apple tea cake to enjoy the last of the year’s apples. With halved apples and a combination of cinnamon, ground ginger and nutmeg, it went down a treat.
Knitting Interval
One more toddler vest for a friend’s daughter, the appropriately named Ruby.
